San Diego Latino Film Festival’s 25th Anniversary Poster to be revealed at Centro Cultural de la Raza at Balboa Park

After months of receiving notable entries, the Poster Competition for the 25th San Diego Latino Film Festival (March 15-25, 2018) has come to a close!

The winning artwork will give life to and inspire the branding of the landmark 25th edition of the film festival. The festival will begin its 25th anniversary celebrations by returning to one of its first venues, Centro Cultural de la Raza in Balboa Park, where the winning poster artwork is set to be unveiled.

The top finalists were chosen by a selection committee comprised of designers, artists and marketing professionals, who reviewed over 320+ entries from local and international artists. Several finalists were from the Southern California region. The winner will receive a $1,000 prize. The finalists’ entries will be on display in the Centro Cultural de la Raza’s gallery space.

Join us for the very best in Latino cuisine, Mezcal tastings, and craft beer by a San Diego brewery. Plus, art exhibition featuring all previous official San Diego Latino Film Festival posters as well as curated artworks from local artists.

The event is open to the public! Entrance is $5.00 and includes a single voucher good for one food item and one drink ticket.

Art displayed will be available for sale, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the Centro Cultural de la Raza, ensuring the sustainability of their future programs. Live music and performances will also occur throughout the event.

The 25th Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival, produced by non-profit Media Arts Center San Diego, will take place from March 15-25, 2018. Every year the festival premieres over 180 films from Latin America, Spain, the US, Mexico, and other parts of the world in an effort to celebrate the diversity of Latino perspectives that exist on a global scale. This 11-day event also features art exhibitions, music, parties, workshops for filmmakers, and special guests from film and television.
